Chocolate dipped strawberries are best when they're made with love. As a college student and a full time dad, I am always pinching pennies. Since Mother's Day is around the corner and this treat runs about $10 for 6pcs at major stores, why not make 8pcs or even a dozen for less than that price.
Here are suggestions and My Budget How 2:
Suggestions:
-Walmart fresh strawberries this week are $1.50 to $2.00 for a pound (in small plastic box, container)
-Wilton Candy Melts: Dark Cocoa also at select Super Walmart for $2.50; however, you can get them at Hobby Lobby or Jo-Ann as well, price varies.
-Feel free to pick up other Wilton Candy Melts like pink or white if you want to experiment, but keep in mind that the flavor for both are vanilla.
-You will also need a sheet of parchment paper. It can be Reynolds or any cheapy brand.

Ingredients:
1lb or 1 container of fresh strawberries
12oz bag of Wilton Candy Melt
1 Sheet of parchment paper
Step by Step:
1. Wash the strawberries in cold water and pad dry with paper towels
2. Put them in a freezer safe container and freeze the strawberries for 15 minutes
3. When 15 minutes are up, take them out of the freezer and now lets melt the candy melts
4. Put the candy melts in a microwavable container like Tupperware or follow the directions on the back of the package carefully not to over heat it. (Because I have 900-watt microwave, I usually put it in DEFROST mode for 30 second at a time and stir in between until it is all watery/silky like with no clumps)
5. Cut out a sheet of parchment paper and secure it on the table with tape or put something heavy at the corners
6. Here is the fun part! Dip these strawberries in the melted candy melts
7. Place them on the parchment paper and let it sit for 10 minutes at room temperature or however long until hardened
8. Store these finished yummy goodness in the refrigerator.
9. Smile and pat yourself on the back, you did it!
Note: For other colors candy melts, the steps are the same.
